Tell me what you see said the blind man to his friend
They tell me that the world is coming to an end
But I can hear the laughter of the children as they play
When I walk by the churches I still hear people pray
So just for a moment won't you be my eyes for me
Take a look at the world and tell me what you see
The friend looked to the blind man with a tear in his eye
And knew just to make him happy he would have to lie
For the children were crying, not laughing in the streets
And when he looked in the churches all he saw were empty
seats
So he tried to dodge the question saying his eyes were not
that good
But the blind man asked another that froze him where he
stood
Does the grass still glisten in the morning with the dew
If you look across the horizon is the sky an endless blue
Do the girls always smile when kissed for the first time
Tell me what you see my friend so I can ease my mind
The friend stared at the grass turning a deathly brown
Then stared up at the sky at the acid rain coming down
He saw a couple arguing with a child waiting in the car
Then he closed his eyes, he couldn't look anymore
I'll tell you what I see he said to his friend who was blind
The people are all praying and to their neighbors they are
kind
And the grass still glistens and always stays green
And the sky it is bluer than I have ever seen
The girls all smile when the boys are near
And the children laugh in the streets without any fear
So put your mind at rest my friend it's not that hard to
cope
With so many people in the world so filled with love and
hope
