My Grandmother Was My Friend

I don't know how it happened or when it did begin

But one day I realized my grandmother was my friend

I guess it all got started many years ago

The seeds of love were planted that made a friendship grow

You have been an inspiration all throughout my life

You guided me to be a mother and a wife

If I had one wish today and knew it would come through

I'd asked The Lord to bless me and make me just like you
