The night the Northern Classic came (Nov 26 2010)

5000 tickets sold in under an hour

They all sold out which made me sour

So disappointed not to have an opportunity

To be part of history in the making

The Northern Classic, a first ever

Outdoor AHL game, well how clever

Music and stars and lots of excitement

If I bought tickets, it would have been money well spent

But guess what?  I won tickets

On my way home from work when I was sick

I called the radio station and played a shoot-out game

The winner was announced and it was my name

I get to attend; I got to be there

I got to be involved in this fabulous affair

Drayton Valley versus the Oil Barons; Let the game begin

It doesn’t matter the outcome but I hope the Barons win.
